Which Transfer Bus from Brisbane Airport to Gold Coast: Here’s My Recommendation.

Now, it’s obvious that you are looking for a way to get from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast, otherwise you wouldn’t be here reading this web page. In August last year I did the research and booked a service that I believe was an excellent, hassle-free service and quite unique as well.

So this will be a review, and my personal experience with a bus from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast. The name of that bus company is Con-x-ion Airport Transfers. I’ll discuss each aspect of the service, pointing out any pros and cons as I go along. So let’s get into it…

Booking the service

This was very straight forward to book… much like booking a flight online. Once you’ve submitted all your details, you’ll receive an email confirming everything and you can go ahead and print it out for your records (and to show the driver on the day if needed).

Pickup from the airport

This I feel was a unique part of the service… the fact that they meet you at the baggage carousel holding up a sign with your name on it. The mini-bus was parked immediately outside, so once your bags are collected and placed in the trailer (fully closed–in) it was ready to go.

On the night that I flew into Brisbane Airport, my flight arrived at 9.30pm so I was pretty keen to get to my destination on the Gold Coast. The driver said that there would be a short wait for another passenger on a separate flight, who was booked on the same ride as me.

But after a quick phone call, he said that the other person’s flight had been delayed and he’d be picked up by the next available Con-x-ion bus. So we were ready to leave straight away, which I was pretty impressed with.

Sit back and enjoy the ride

This was definitely the best part of the whole experience… being able to just sit back and relax in a modern air-conditioned mini-bus. There was only me, the driver and one other passenger on board so I could really stretch out if I wanted to.

I didn’t have to worry about where we were going, no having to read a map and trying to drive at the same time, or use a GPS. The driver took care of all that. I literally just sat back and took in the sites as we drove along, and occasionally closed my eyes and chilled out.

If I had hired a car on this occasion, I would have been very tired, stressed-out and cranky and I wouldn’t have been able to have a couple of alcoholic drinks on the flight prior to landing either.

Drop off right to your door

I very much like the fact that they take you right to the accommodation that you’re staying at and drop you off at the front door. This particular night we had a very good run, without much traffic around… actually got to my hotel at about 11.15pm after leaving Brisbane airport just before 10pm, so I was pretty pleased with that.

Very reasonable price

The price that I ended up paying was $85 for the return trip, which I thought was great value for money. Considering that this price was cheaper or comparable to the cost of other travel options, and the fact that the quality of the service and experience was so high, I believe that this price was a bargain.

Other testimonials

Below are a couple of reviews that I found online from different people…

“I have recommended the service to a few friends since then and they have all agreed that Con-X-ion is a simple, non-complicated service that from start to finish makes both the beginning and the end of your holiday a pleasure” Read more… (Opens in a new window)

“So even though there was a small mistake made, I’m more than happy to recommend Con-X-ion because at the end of the day I think the way they handled the situation was really professional. Drivers were safe and respectful, well worth my $44, which just as a courtesy, they refunded to me for the inconvenience. But it wouldn’t have mattered because I’d have paid for the service anyway” Read more… (Opens in a new window)

The only disadvantage that I could see, was on the return trip from the Gold Coast back to Brisbane airport… on this trip we had to pick up a few people from a few different locations around the Gold Coast, so this did take up a bit of extra time. But really, this is just a very minor gripe and I wasn’t all that worried about it at the time. If anything, it gave me a chance to see more of the sights around the Gold Coast.

On the plus side, they do pick you up well in advance of your flight time, so there’s no chance of you getting to the airport late… I was still there with plenty of time to spare.
